I can't say enough great things about the feel good nature of this show. I watch every season as soon as it hits Netflix and watch multiple episodes back to back. These guys really are amazing, lovely men and what they do for people is amazing. Love them and the show.
If there is one criticism I have about the show is that they do this huge makeover all while telling everyone they can start over, they can be different, see differently about themselves, and feel differently. While this sentiment is perfect and beautiful and something we all need to strive towards, there is a catch side as well.
The catch is they talk about how home is the place to be safe and come to for peace and if it is a dark place then it will affect you and that you have to have a space for you that isn't drab and stuck in the past, etc. However, I don't know many people in my income bracket that can afford the types of changes that these guys do to make it the kind of space they are talking about. I would love to do just a few of the ideas on this show, but I know I can't afford it and most of us can't.
While the show is amazing, I think they should tone down the anyone can have a space like this aspect of it because honestly, most of us just can't afford it.
