I’ve always liked Earthworks. This recording is new to me and it is brilliant. Possibly the most aggressive Bruford drumming on record yet completely under control. The band is great and never sounded better.

This book gets two stars only out of respect to the once great Kate Atkinson. Loved the previous Jackson Brodie books but this was booorrring! If you like watching paint dry while listening to musty chamber music on a speaker from the 1940s, you will absolutely love this book. In all fairness, I tapped out at about 300 pages. Just couldn’t take any anymore.

Brilliant. Possibly the best of this series. Laugh out loud humor, skillful plotting, emotionally compelling characters and situations and shocking plot twists. Can’t wait to read the next one.

Excellent cast but comically overwrought. Everybody speaks very sloooowly in hushed tones. Two hardened CIA agents are crying through half the movie. Intrusive, ponderous soundtrack. Throw in some soft focused sex scenes that to me appear to be pure filler and you have a recipe for a complete waste of time. My question is, how did they convince Jonathan Pryce to act in this? That the leads are quite beautiful is the best thing I ca. say about this film. In fairness, others have different opinions.
