I'm going against the grain. We saw the movie tonight. I'm not going to be long winded but it was pretty stupid. For one Polar bears don't live in mountains. They eat seals and other sea animals. Apparently there is no hope for humans as these two kids that survive have no food and the polar bear looks at them. Otherwise the movie reminded me of Soviet realism with a debased upper class holding down the oppressed worker. Heavy handed propaganda

One of the worst abuses of the Iliad I have ever seen. A black Achilles? What were you thinking? You wanted to be politically correct? Zeus could have been played by a goat or a bull as he chose many forms. I don't care that he was black, but did he have to act like a piece of cardboard? I've plowed through the Iliad, the Aeneid and the Odyssey twice each. I won't be watching any of those thanks to you. The people who think it is OK for a black Achilles probably never heard of the epic before this. Can't wait to see Will Smith play Mao Tse Tung or Brad Pitt return the favor and play Martin Luther King. Then there is the matter of the gods who are constantly intertwined with the Iliad, a whole dimension you practically ignore. Total waste of time if you are looking for some kind of reflection of the book.
