What we expected is ayya Kalki's story and what we saw is Mr.Maniratnam's story which is disappointing for those who read the novel. War sequence, nandhini flashback and all a waste of time instead of that could have stuck with madhuranthagan plot. Vikram done his role perfectly but the character of Aditha Karikalan and his attitude depicted in novel is on a different level same goes for Arul Mozhi Varman. I dun understand the role of senthan amudhan in movie, in novel it is such an important character. They could have stretched to a third part instead of omitting the actual story line and giving a sudden finish. Was expecting this movie would be a visual treat for the novel lovers and after watching this on day 1 its a huge let down, You guys had a huge commercial success and now who is gonna read and understand the difference between the actual story and the movie. Job well done in misleading the younger generation with your own story. A one time watch and those who haven't read the novel might like it. PS1 i watched the movie at 4.30 am the day of release and PS2 i regret watching.
