One of the saddest, most touching and beautiful films
I've seen in some time. The ignorant assumptions and
arrogant cruelty of the majority culture, experienced for
the first time by the protagonist, Elle-Marje, and the empathetic
tension that arises, as she first attempts to "cross over" into that culture,
to become "Christina," makes watching "Sami Blood," beginning
to end, not merely compelling, but visceral.
