Despite what the (ignorant) negative reviews say, Young Rock to me is a well put together sitcom. In real life The rock mentioned he MIGHT be running for president and that he would take it into consideration. In the sitcom he's running for president in the 2032 election. And I think the way he does it in the sitcom by spreading positivity from his personal back stories is genius. So if he actually runs for president for real, the people can use the REAL stories from the sitcom to tell you who The Rock actually was as a person growing up and naturally, who he actually is behind the camera.
Even though we only see the real Rock in the beginning and end, and hear him narrate from time to time, it's a good thing Rock is doing allowing new actors/actresses to have their chance to shine. And the cast is playing their roles pretty well.
One thing I would've preferred though is that the flashbacks were in order. So for example, season 1 could be all about Dwayne at age 10, then the next season at age 15, then the next at age 20. But that's only a minor thing.
Now let me address some of the bad reviews about Young Rock, which quiet frankly doesn't make any sense to me. Most just say its trash and they don't really have any hard argument to back up their opinions on, and that's being a poor critic. I saw a couple of reviews saying that the sitcom has poor comedy. Well either something is wrong with me, or something is wrong with you. Because there are some scenes where I'm laughing or even smiling. I don't think sitcom is supposed to be focusing on comedy though. Its supposed to be focusing on storytelling and the morals from the story being told.
Another set of bad reviews being said is the sitcom is just filled with Rock's ego. Lol, please, The Rock has less ego on the sitcom compared to Trump in real life. The only person that has a lot of ego on the show was Rocky Johnson, but I find it entertaining. Like father like son lol. Yes however, over the years the Rock usually has a lot of ego (especially when he is loud) and that's one reason why he's earned titles and names such as "The Rock" and "the most electrifying man" in the 1st place. And it's also why we are fans of his from his wrestling days. But on the sitcom The Rock is more humble (and quiet) than he usually is.
So y'all haters better come better if you wanna hate on The Rock's past and legacy.
