This movie was absolutely awesome! I am truly amazed that I got to know about such an underrated gem.
The film delivers a powerful message against patriarchy. It starts by illustrating how the women in the house were confined within four walls, and ironically, their house shared a wall with the school. Despite being so close to the school, they remained distanced from it. This aspect struck me deeply as it beautifully portrayed their struggle and longing for freedom.
Furthermore, the movie sheds light on the dark practices carried out in the name of religion. It unveils the unfortunate truth of how some individuals, within the Islamic faith, commit wrongful acts under the guise of serving God (Allah).
Also, the film portrays the hardships of poverty in Pakistan and the daily struggles of people for basic facilities. It also shows the story of a transgender person, providing another perspective on societal challenges.
The movie touched me on an emotional level, leaving an indelible impact on me. There were No unnecessary drama, no overacting.... just the simple movie with simple story.
The movie shows how simplicity is Always Classy.
I will give 10/10 to the movie, indeed an unforgettable one.
