Kabir Singh is 100% Shahid Kapoor's film. His performance is excellent. I give him 4 out of five.
Whereas Shahid has excelled, the film has a few weak points.
First half is little too dragged. The protagonist asking his gf
to accompany him and walking in her class room is unrealistic.
His sidekick's role is unnecessarily overdone. It would have been
more apt had he been (hero) left alone to fight his battle against
alcohol, drugs, loneliness and violence. Shahid's acting has remarkably matured.
Another flaw is the conventional ending of the unconventional film.
The film has done a good job highlighting the hypocrisy of our society. Even after knowing the intensity of her daughter's relationship with her lover, the girl's father forced her to marry another guy.
It would have been better if the film ended in a park where the couple's reunion takes place. May be the conventional marriage was the director's idea to provide emotional relief to the audience.
It's saddening many good films flop because the audience aren't evolved. They should. It's high time to do away with the stupid practices.
HopeShahid continues giving excellent performances. I give 4 out of 5 to the film.
