I think they did a pretty solid job with this.
I found it engaging and provocative. Topics like racism, sexism, homophobia, sexual abuse, and bias are unapologetically and abruptly thrown at you. We all know that these things run rampant in Hollywood to this day, but it's never talked about, so this was a refreshing take on taking a stand and trying to force a change, in spite of the risks.
It's campy. It's sappy. Sometimes it focused on too many stories at once, but if you're paying attention it's not hard to keep track of what's going on.
It's probably unrealistic, and barely touches on just how bad it was in that era, but talking about it at all is an improvement.
I thought this was excellently done. A lot of people aren't into it. But I would recommend watching it... Just go in with an open mind.
