A bit overly metaphor-laden for a modern morality play, but well-executed, very well-acted by the principals, and exceedingly well-textured to fit the story. Sparse where sparcity is appropriate, never lush, befitting the historical setting. Not a kid's movie, but not overly or overtly graphic. Typical of a Tom Hanks movie in this regard. A bit predictable, telegraphing plot points that might've been more impactful were they allowed to surprise us. Overall, we enjoyed the movie, and recommend it.
