I really love the book series and I really like this movie. I know a lot of people are saying that its nothing like the book but I think it does the job of cramming all the information you need to know into its 2 hours. Yes, it gets some stuff wrong and is corny in some places but for a book to movie adaption, it's better than most. The casting was spot on and after re-reading the books I could really picture the actors as the characters. I watched one episode of the tv series and almost vomited in my mouth. Anyone who loves the books cannot physically, mentally and emotionally love that show. I'm sorry but it is disgraceful. This movie really gets the feel of the books and I really wish there was a second movie and a third and a fourth...
