"the Jefferson" was one of the first "black sitcom" that had a positive setting towards the black-community ...it was a family who dreamt of moving on out of the ghetto...and they did by working hard... also i liked the positive values projected towards a black family plus the black father was portrayed the same as the white fathers on white sitcoms. i started watching "the Jefferson" since the mid-70...and i am still watching George & Louise today with the same thoughtfulness...pt
