Overall good wholesome entertainment, but a tad unrealistic in terms of the realities of life and how most of us deal. Tends to also be a little sanctimonious, with adults wallowing in their own entitlement and self pity. That said, we need more ‘wholesome and less smitten @ entertainment, so it’s worth the watch

It’s dark and gloomy and depressing, but it’s also full of twists and turns and not a contrived plot as others may infer, the lines are blurred because you become involved with each characters plight the ‘humanity’ of people is well portrayed and it’s not just sequence of events without a good explanation and portrayal. Good choice of cast and the acting was really good. I hope there’s a 3rd season.

While I can appreciate the many reviews claiming the artistic brilliance and ‘poignancy’ of the books and the television series, I found this show appallingly cruel? Frances MD IS an incredible star, and her portrayal was brilliant, but you cannot soften the ‘brilliance’ of the cruelty that her nature bore down on and destroyed her sweet long suffering , caring husband and her child who knew little warmth or comfort from a very distant, non maternal women I would not call a mother. Sorry I found it appallingly cruel and depressing to the point of unacceptable in the name of artistry.

Brillliant series, poignant, thrilling, sad, suspenseful in all the right moments and places. Wonderful heartfelt acting from every character and I’m so sad that it ended. There’s not enough good shows around like this these days.

The show was ok, what resonates with me is, these celebrities, vain, narcissistic, self obsessed, seeking constant notoriety and attention from a public who bows and scrapes to a fleeting career based in excess and self indulgence. Very few of them do anything beyond feeding their own egos and narcism and drug, drink, destroy themselves and surround them selves with airhead Leeches. And ultimately the se empty soulless airhead groupies and fans abandon them, because it’s all vacuous bs. What?? Do they actually give back to society with all the money and influence they have? Sorry, have no sympathy, they are self indulgent and self destructive and I could probably cut and paste this for all of these low class drugging punks

Mmmm, methinks a lot of plagiarism from Sven Larsen’s ‘Girl with the dragon tattoo’ et al, even the grittyness of Veronica is mirrored in terms of a character. SL is better in terms of plausibility and detail, GMV lacks plausibility, too many holes and inconsistencies .

I really enjoy the Swedish Noir type series and that they become all engrossing as they are multi layered, complex and enthralling. One factor that I don't enjoy, (and yes the protagonists have usually suffered some kind of traumatising personal angst which manifests in their behavior) is that these characters of mostly devoid of any life beyond their own self engrossed/ self absorbing traits. To make these shows balanced there needs to be a "let up" of the continual darkness and the angst. These characters are often totally unlikeable due to a high level of narcism in indulging in their own woes and tribulations - let up will you, the world doesn't revolve around you in all aspects and having some light hearted fair in your personal space will make you less suicidal? Marcella is just such a person, and her husband is the same, not to mention the awful bunch at the construction company. Self absorbed filthy rich and no aptitude to understand anyone or anything beyond their own selfish agenda's Noir is good, extreme narcism wrt the main characters not so much, its draining and a black hole of misery which becomes a little too repetitive and tedious

Totally and utterly charming, the location, the cast the story telling is superb, Kyle Catlett is charming and captivating and takes you to a bygone era of innocence and wonder that is completely absent in the world for kids growing up today. A masterpiece and a great pity that it didn’t do well at the box office as more parents would have enjoyed it with their kids.

A beautiful setting completely spoilt by a bunch of entitled, vain, no class premadonnas who spend most of the show behaving like soap opera stars and constantly bickering and yelling how un professional Not to mention men behaving like ninnies snd one of them constantly saying ‘my wife is expecting a baby’ and he behaves like one Jersey shore trash in the Hamptons. And Sara the porn star? What was that They should all grow up, do some real work and show some respect to their audience
