The Shrink Next Door is a masterpiece. First, Paul Rudd's incisive portrayal of the real-life character Dr. Ike Herschkopf is nothing short of astounding. The show is worth watching just to observe Rudd's craft. Will Ferrell as real-life character Marty Markowitz is equally impressive. Ferrell gives the performance of his life in his portrayal of the anxiety-riddled introvert turned subservient disciple of the doctor. The interaction between the two actors takes on a life of its own that becomes a third fascinating character to watch.
