It was missing something for sure. Jo was angry without much substance and Teddy...oh sorry "Laurie Lawrence" was the kid from highschool musical so automatically I groaned when he came on the screen but his character was warm and at least became likeable. Jo ruined it for me. And Beth who is usually the most sympathetic character just seemed lost in this modern version. I did like that they introduced the professor earlier in this adaptation. Overall I'll stick with my Winona Ryder/Christian Bale version.
