First time I watched a movie and it has moved me enough to make a review for it. I rarely show emotion - yet I damn near cried throughout this. Great acting, great story, great direction etc. I have no complaints.
The movie addresses a topic that most families can relate to - kids' studies, settlement in life and family image (paruvu in telugu i guess) AND how they affect relationship between parent and kid. In my opinion, these ideas are conveyed very realistically and accurately.
Many of the older generation (boomers) will consider this movie to be trash, "slippers thrown on director" level trash, as some other people have said in these reviews (worth noting that they are all boomers). This is because throughout their life, they grew up believing in the same ideology that the father in this movie believed. Changing their opinion will be tough.
However, that said, this movie is a good start - maybe after watching this, some of those minds will change... we can hope...
