It’s a star studded epic and we don’t/can’t/won’t make em like this anymore. I will give the animal wrangler a D- PETA should have been called. and always Love me some young up and coming Mikey Rourke and Jeff Bridges. Oh, And Walkers eye makeup is gorgeous. But Most importantly, it’s a story of a chapter about America and our hatred and nastiness and greed. And the personal social economic and civic wars we’ve created along the way. And the lives we toss under buses. Right from the beginning. Americans arrived feeling persecuted and paid it forward by persecuting others. We stole this land and then the greedy and self serving managed that with genocide, slavery and systemic oppression under the guise of Capitalism. This film shows a white on white oppression and attempt to revolt. Rich entitled on poor immigrants. Government sanctioned violence and mercenary instigation stokes chaos and discord. Sound familiar? Like what is happening today? This American story is beyond tired. Beyond shameful. Is this all we are? Aren’t we better than this? Can we be better than this? We as Americans need to change our narrative. We need to direct our history towards progression and inclusion. Thank you those that are joining in protest and speaking out.
