Jane, after watching the news real on June 6th about “Policing in America”. It was very interesting to see what other countries have done or have as laws. When you spoke of the low gun crimes in Japan, I wish your segment could also explain “why” it was sooo low. You forgot to mention that handguns are not allowed to be sold, that citizens wanting a gun permit must take a class, pass a written test, have a shooting score of 95% or higher and repeat again in 3 years. Ammunition is sold to the owner one box at a time & they have return the empty cartridges to get more. Their country is limit in Gun Stores with limited Guns sold and all guns are registered to the government and once a gun is sold, must report who bought the gun. Police can make random searches at anytime to see if you still have the gun. Guns must be kept under lock and key including ammunition. They have a lot more police compared to the USA, with good relationships of their community, which I think is a plus. Thanks for all that has been shared.
I’ve enjoyed your programs over the years, I just feel that lately, the whole story isn’t being told in some of these segments. It’s very misleading.
Also, why wasn’t anything mentioned about D-Day? Are we moving on to erase the past because it was over 70 years ago and old news? I was kind of shocked not to hear or see some little segment about it.
