For those saying why didn't Braum's parents treat him like the doll? What? I mean who can tell a child that has been face burnt anything to make him feel better. And their committing suicide only confirms their imperfection to heal Braum''s wounds. And it's hard to treat a child hidden away like that with those kind of wounds and internal scars special enough to make him feel special himself. He inflicts pain on others who don't understand him as the doll. Psychological but definitely understandable.
