Tragic and touching, American Splendor shows us a moment both in modern American history, and in the life of a forgotten man. The film teaches us that no matter how badly we think our own lives are going, things could always be worse... much, much worse.

This movie walked a winding trail of barely connected scenes and a tired, used-up premise. I watched it all the way to the end, but I had to force myself to do it.
