Hobson's Choice is without doubt one of the best, if not THE best, of British made films. I've bought it on Amazon Prime, and must watch it at least twice a month if not more often. The casting, the writing, tie directing, the camera work is all perfection. And best of all is the way the film remains so true to the original book... the humour shines through, the dialogue is virtually word for word as was written. Further, it captures at once the period and the way of Salford living as it was in 1879. What a joy. If ever I need inspiration about a certain aspect of our modern life today, all I have to do is dip into a showing of Hobson's!
