One of THE most underrated films out there! Although Apocalypto was criticised as historically inaccurate it is still a brilliant film giving a glimpse into an extinct culture. Beautifully executed. Apocalypto is full of suspense and action right from go. The story and characters grip you from start to finish. I've watched and rewatched this film I can't say enough praise for this film.

I was very very disappointed with this biopic. The film jumped and skipped around crucial experiences in Arethas life. There was no elaboration or exploration into some of these painful experiences that undoubtedly helped to shape such an iconic and legendary person that was Aretha Franklin. The acting was also painfully obvious and the characters hollow and lacked substance. I did not feel the character of Aretha Franklin or her life at all. Pivotal points were missed or left dangling. The music was mind blowing of course, but the woman herself remains a mystery and this film totally missed the mark. When comparing Ray Charles Biopic this film was way way below par. Such a missed opportunity.

Terrible retelling of a biblical tale. Excruciatingly over the top. It seems the director has thought it necessary to put his own spin on this tale and has instead made an ugly Hollywood drama.
