The movie challenges the whole idea of Indians being lower than Britishers. Even though Abdul was lower than Queen Victoria, he wasn't treated like a servant. The beautiful friendship, the bond they share has been portrayed in an appropriate manner. The movie is quite entertaining as it is historical facts, comical interactions as well as heartfelt, wholesome interactions between the queen and her confidant put together.
