I've noticed, interestingly enough, that in the 18th century, people loved to write very boring papers, in which after every few words, they use a comma, making the process of reading it feel, in my opinion, very choppy, however, because of this rampant comma use, it is not a run on sentence, and, since the commas are used properly, it is still grammatically correct.
