I went into this show with zero prior knowledge - I hadn't even really read a synopsis - but am so glad I gave it a shot. Briefly, it can be described as the journey the innocent and spirited protagonist, Orel, undergoes as he misinterprets any guidance given to him by the town's citizens in his own personal goal to become a better child of God. To the viewer, this inadvertently pokes holes in popular Evangelical Christian rhetoric, bringing them under scrutiny in a humorous light.
While definitely coming across as somewhat repetitive and reliant on shock comedy during the first lot of episodes, by roughly midway, Moral Orel rewards viewers through it's expertly written character-centric content and a surprising shift in tone and direction that was only seen during glimpses of the first season, as the layers to Orel's family and the characters of Moralton are slowly peeled back.
I couldn't explain it too much further, as this series is just something that has to be seen in order to be believed. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates adult animated content and can see it striking a particular chord with those who grew up in a small, American, Christian town.
