The book is really well written. However the film lacks a lot.
Having read the book, I can safely say that 1 hour & 43 minutes do not do justice to the story. Maybe it was supposed to be fast paced but the audience who haven't read the book do not understand the characters and their actions and reason well enough, which leaves them confused.
Judson Crandall is an important character as he knows the most about the "sematary", but those details are missing.
Norma, Jud's wife if shown in the film would have made a significant difference to the film. Rachel's problems and her sister Zelda do not get enough time on screen. Louis, surely goes through a lot of bad stuff, but he seems very casual about the weird things he's doing.
Victor Pascow, on the other hand, is my favorite ghost ever. I'd say watch the film only for Pascow.
Overall I would like say that the presence of Norma would have made the film a little better to understand. And no comments on the acting, cause it's just there, nothing extraordinary.
It's a 3/5
