A complete waste of a concept with such enormous potential. Horrible pacing, horrible writing. Uninteresting characters, and the entire first hour of the movie could be omitted and nothing of value would be lost. If you’re expecting an action movie, or a movie with any sense of realism, save yourself an hour and a half. The main plot of the journalists is not only unrealistic, but mind-numbingly dull and excruciatingly boring. There’s no world building. No exploration into what caused the civil war. Not even a map was shown as to how the different secessionist states split. A great concept with the horrid writers and an even worse directing team. You would have to pay me to watch this again. I’m convinced the 5 star ratings paid for.

As a fan of the series and the manga, this movie was very mediocre. I have no idea how this movie has a 4.9 star rating on Google, but let me give you an unbiased, real take on this movie. TLDR: You aren’t missing out on anything if you don’t see this movie in theaters. Really. Very boring, and could’ve been much better if the plot and fight scenes were more thought-out from a directing standpoint. Spoiler-free: The entire plot of WHM was incredibly lackluster and boring. Every fight scene was weightless, ESPECIALLY the final fight scene(s) with some of the main characters. Only the opening fight sequence was the only entertaining one in the entire movie, and the movie truly went downhill from there. The main character, Rody, had the most generic and cliche backstory ever, and really showed no purpose in being in the film in the first place. Don’t get me started on Rody’s quirk, which when revealed, almost made me leave the theater. His quirk could’ve been something memorable and cool, but nope. It was as if a 5-year old decided what Rody’s quirk was. Nevertheless, the main villain had a great quirk that could’ve been super cool to see if the plot was better, and the final fight scene wasn’t the most generic and cliche sequence I’ve ever seen. This is a movie that you can see with friends, but definitely pre-game it. You’ll thank me later.
