A villain story wherein the main character (the villain) abuses the ancient tradition of Sepukku on his close friends, confidantes and dependents to achieve the powerful title of 'Shogun'. A lazy and cheap plot wrapped in several layers of exquisite kimonos, impeccable acting by both veteran and new comers who did their best given the deceptive plotline and lastly epic scores by some young talented composers.

A total 'yahoo' attempt at creating something epic and sci-fi. I never read the books but the story has great potential...to an extent they did manage to capture the intrigue. Even being a science based story, there is very little science being discussed, atleast no attempt has been given towards making it clever and having the audience relate to it. Certain things explained within its science realm collapse into their own logic finding no supportive materials vis-a-vis the characters. At this point they can call it a fantasy magic show and it would still feel the way it is. It has some strong times when it pulls at your heart strings due to human relations like friendship and romance but I want to point to the irony of liking a sc-fi show for its emotional bits. They got some great actors, veterans and freshers alike. Plot logic often collapses into itself, its like they cause a logic to appear and then forget to consider it in their decision making. Dialogues give you the impression of watching a bad anime. Curious, I google the series...lo and behold its David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the guys who ruined Game of Thrones and the reason why I am annoyed at a potentially great series, is no longer a mystery. Still, an attempt has been made and I appreciate the effort the actors have put in so I will rate it 3.

I am an old man but this FILM made me feel like a little boy with a fast paced heart and non stop goosebumps. I have lived in the time of such film making...this is CINEMA. Denis Villeneuve you are a cinema GOD. Everyone involved in the process of making this film is worthy of praise. So much power, you don't feel like you're watching a film, you feel like you are IN the film, it just sucks you in and invests your spirit. The theatre experience is simply mind blowing because of the sound effects and score. Oh man what a ride!

Perhaps I should have managed my expectations, I mean I don't think Ridley Scott was trying to make a RomCom but is how it felt, I giggled through so many scenes that felt like a period parody drama. There were some grand moments I won't lie, I personally feel that given the budget and scale, atleast some more effort ought to have been given to Napolean's brilliance but a more romantic approach was preferred as the passage of time is narrated between love letters. Spoilers (mild) What happened to Lucien? what happened to Napolean's son and his later wife? these questions were never dealt with focusing more on the depth of Napolean and Josephine's relationship.

I can hardly believe that this is the Director who brought us Rogue One, the only Star Wars film that was worth watching in the mid 2000's. The main plot line was good even though AI is already an over-discussed topic at this point, but there are so many directorial faults in most scenes that an honest Director should be embarrassed of them. John David Washington was not a good choice for this character as it required emotional expressions which he frankly lacked in all key scenes, it just seemed like he isn't aware of how human beings act and react on an emotional level as every expression seemed forced and formal. Also, it seems Gareth Edwards thinks ALL ASIANS speak the same language...I will just leave it at that.

So as a general rule, Epic Chinese productions are managed by hundreds of teams, which makes sense because of the huge scale of the production and more often than not, those several teams also become in charge of carrying the main plot of a film forwards, which often affects the smoothness, in the form of a pivotal scene or as small a thing like a dialogue etc, you will notice some silliness at times in this epic production too, but they still managed it with minor oversights which I won't nitpick further. All that being said, this is full on fantasy-epic-adventure-action entertainment, it is comedic at times, romantic, scandalous, anecdotal, brutal, in short it has something for everyone to feel invested in. Story telling has a good flow and the ending looks very promising for Part II. Watch out for the mid credits and post credits scenes to get a hint of what comes in part II.

I honestly had low expectations going in because I wasn't impressed with the previous Poirot reproductions (Death on the Nile and Murder on the Orient Express) , however this one turned out to be quite entertaining although Tina Fey's acting was underwhelming, I just felt her character could have had a better, more expressive/dramatic actress. It is worth the watch, I recommend 100%.

Not a good movie. If you absolutely have nothing to do in a day and want to yawn and stare at a screen with half open eyes then you can watch this. It is not too bad either as production value is decent. I watched it because of Eva Green who is such a great actress and plays villain roles so well. One laughable thing though is that they copied the background score of Dark Knight Rises and also the Daennyris theme in many moments to underscore the mood of certain moments.

Excellently produced and directed series which allowed for ideal character development and climax, save for one sub-plot, which wasn't handled well enough but I have not read the source material to know the intention of the writer. Story progression, turns and twists, everything synced so perfectly (save for the aforesaid sub plot) . Andrea Riseborough shines as one of the gems of acting because her character went through so much in the series and all the changing emotions and playthrough's , she handled like a god. The entire cast was fantastic of course, otherwise the extensive main plot could not have been carried by one actor alone. Such well executed creations amazes me to the extent of which human beings are capable of.

It's basically a kids movie, that too it can only be entertaining for 0 to 11 year olds at best...that too if they are high IQ they might find the predictability of this feature film, dull.
