When I first saw the trailer I thought "this looks like a good documentary." But I was wrong. It was neither a documentary nor was it good. What stands out is the great effort expended in trying to create 'suspense'. It was the wrong approach in my opinion. This just ended up dragging the story unnecessarily. It takes an extraordinarily long time to reveal what Anna actually did and the shock value that was expected from the "scandal" becomes completely non-existent.

While the premise is intriguing, the show lacks pace. Scenes are dragged on for years on end, especially if they sex scenes, break up scenes or emotional scenes. The intriguing introduction gets lost in the long drawn out character introduction narratives. We learn so much unnecessary details about the lives of the individuals and the overall plot suffers for it. It feels like the series is just a basic drama that attempts to be an action/thriller as well. The trailer makes it look like an action/thriller "heroes" type of series yet 85% of it is just emotional drama. To me it was disappointing how the writers have wasted the sensate narrative in favor of social narratives/struggles. The stories they tell have little to do with being a sensate and more to do with being a normal human in our day to day world. If you are looking for action, thrill, pace and a little bit of fantasy you won't find it here, despite what the trailer or introduction would have you believe. Or rather, you will find it in very little doses that you wonder if your time investment was worth it.
