I’m a die hard fan of the first 2 movies. Had high hopes for this one after waiting so long. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but it feels like a completely separate movie from the first two. It definitely has a more serious tone to it over the first two. Where it fails, in my opinion, a majority of the humor is in the trailers, like most movies these days. Without spoiling the movie, the “twist” had so much more potential. But the death of a character, destroys the potential for redemption, maybe you’ll understand where I’m coming from after you watch it. The bad guys in the movie just aren’t “scary” like Johnny Tapia in bad boys 2. I feel like a better job could’ve been done to build up the bad guys. There’s no cool car chases, don’t expect anything like the 18 wheeler scene in Bad Boys 2. Overall, Bad Boys for Life is a good movie, but it lacks that replay ability the first two had, I could watch the first 2 movies a thousand times, but this one just won’t have that same flair. It just feels like a watered down version of Bad Boys 2, but I know Will smith and Martin Lawrence are getting old and it’s been a long time since part 2, plus it lacks that over the top craziness that Michael Bay brought to the first 2. Overall a good movie and worth seeing, but don’t go expecting the same movie as the first 2.
