An unbelievably laughable attempt at fleshing out a fantastic character. No academy award winning actor could have saved this ridiculously redundant series. Sarah Paulson is truly talented as well as many of her peers on Rached. It’s incredibly disheartening to see that millions of dollars can be allocated to such a flaming dumpster fire. The plucky campiness and the overall predictability of the show truly mirrors all of Ryan Murphy’s productions. Generally all of which build a great setting and plot only to randomly suck. I am at a loss for words at how poorly pieced together Rached is. Truly had high hopes for this show. The character of Mildred Rached is a historical cinematic icon; who is disgracefully smeared by this awful, awful, awful show. I truly enjoyed nearly every minute of the show up until about the fifth episode. Ryan Murphy truly had quite a beautiful cinematic masterpiece in his hands. That is until he handed it off to whoever handles the end half of everything he’s ever done. A pattern I figured he’d break by now... the show takes such a bizarre uncharacteristic nosedive as all signs of redeem-ability are long gone. I even prayed for a small directional step back in a direction I could even like. Yet to no avail. The show hits a wall I can only describe as “The Ryan Murphy effect” Truly no reason for this cockamamie garbage. My condolences to the time wasted by all of the hard working talented people behind this project. Only if the last three episodes could be Ret Conned. Topics like Racism, inequality and injustice should truly be told by people with more insight. Ryan Murphy, dear god my man. I have no faith you read these reviews since there are an abundance of them. But if you maybe took a second to read and acknowledge your criticism, you would cease to push out this half developed excrement. This is yet another stain upon a feces smeared resume. I am astounded that the eggheads at Netflix shoveled a single dollar your direction. Anyone with any historical integrity wouldn’t convince themselves to settle for this half baked cinema. I am past apprenticing the many great things this show really brings. The cinematography, color coordination, costume design and artistic talent is impeccable. Then again anything with a limitless budget should be. It just goes to show that Ryan Murphy truly did not care whatsoever about the source material. I cannot wait to see how poorly this does critically. Ryan Murphy, either learn to direct something that isn’t awful or maybe just quit and become a clown; I’m sure we can all give you a reference after this. God bless Sarah Paulson for her unimpeachable talent. I truly admire how she can actually play this awfully written character well enough to spectate. The dialogue is so bad sometimes that it really just pains you to watch. If the show ended after episode 5 I could maybe stomache another season of this shameless money grab. But truly I just wish I could unwaste my time. I guess I’m the end Ryan Murphy made us all look like clowns for getting our hopes up. Lesson learned; only ever watch half of any Ryan Murphy project and you may have some chance of enjoying its integrity. The constant dragging and the shameless victimization is tragic. How do you make it this far in film when you are this awful. Next time leave feminist messages to people who can maybe tell them? Also maybe look up what racism was? Also just quit. I am sorry to anyone who has or will waste any time watching Rached. A monotonous piece of cinema speckled with talent and hard work. Truly depressing in the worst possible way. I am going to go bleach my eyes.
