I understand some of you may think that this portrays atheists as people who attack religion. And that is wrong. Although they called Professor Raddison (Kevin Sorbo) an "atheist" in the description, he was not an atheist. He was an anti-theist. Atheists don't attack religion, but anti-theists do. "Anti" means against and "Theo" means God, so the meaning is against God, meaning that anti-theists are against religion. So I think that debate is settled now.
God's Not Dead is a pretty inspirational movie and it tells people to stand up for their faith (particularly the Christians) in hard times. The setting is in America because it was made in America, which has freedom of religion. So you might think "Professors in college would never do that". And you are right (they shouldn't). But think about the other places in the world that don't have freedom of religion. God's Not Dead is basically telling us that we have to stand up for our faith in an oppressive society. And that inspires me.
One extremely bad thing about this movie is that it insults Muslims in one particular scene. They should probably make a remake to delete that one scene and make a new one in place. What they were trying to do is to show how oppressive some religions can be, but you shouldn't just free-fire on Muslims.
