What to say about Spectre. It does so many things right, yet so many things wrong. Spectre was one big mashup of all the things that fans love; a sex scene, an action packed scene, a gruesome scene, a lot of scenic views and more however I do feel like they went for scenes first, story after as it isn’t one of the series’ strongest entries. Nowhere better than the intro does display this point; great visuals, a great song, great artist BUT it doesn’t really fit together. 3/5, a lot of yes and a lot of no.

This is the best war film to have graced the planet. Gary Oldman as Churchill was a perfect choice and he perfectly captured the former prime ministers personality and was able to transfer that onto the wider screen. Every moment of the film had the viewer hooked. The movie follows Churchill and the time between his appointment (the near start of WW2) and eventually to the Dunkirk evacuation (hence the film is named Darkest Hour). The main premise is Churchill battling within himself and with his War Cabinet on the subject of Britain and where they go from that point. His main opposition rests with Viscount Halifax (a man who wants a peace deal with Nazi Germany) and Neville Chamberlain (the former prime minister who stepped down after a loss of confidence). Perfect Movie for any ages from Embryo to 200. 6 out of 5 stars.

No doubt this will go down as a classic. It’s a comedy with a story arch where you eventually get attached to the characters. They fade in and out of relevance to ensure you don’t get bored and it’s always hilarious seeing their schemes to make money (which usually ends in a bud plantation). This should be held in unison with shows like Little Britain and Mr Bean as all time greats.
