This is a black and white nearly 70 year old movie. I watched it in the 1950s in the theatre. Since then I have seen it at least 3 times on TV including now, 2019. It is an uncomplicated story of one decent, brave man who is forced to fight bad men. He stands alone without the help of the town whose people he has repeatedly protected as their sheriff. He is believably portrayed by Gary Cooper. The supporting actors and actresses are memorable. The background music adds to the story with "...do not forsake me oh my darling" running throughout. Watch this to see Gary Cooper in one of his finest roles. It does not matter that it is an old, black and white movie.
