Awful storyline. It’s similar to “Dirty John” where the characters don’t accept responsibility for the choices they make for themselves.
The connections between relationships were unclear.
A “mature” woman, lost her husband and chose to marry a younger man within a short period of time without meeting his family and friends. ? Her libido and romantic fantasy was more important than maturity and experience?
Her choice. Her responsibility.
If you marry an absolute stranger then don’t act so surprised with the consequences and outcome of that relationship if it goes badly. You don’t know them enough.
You let him have sex in your house with another woman and you didn’t tell her you are the wife?
Him being a total jerk doesn’t give you the right to bash him over the head. Your irresponsible behaviour doesn’t give you the right to punish someone physically because of their irresponsible behaviour towards you. He robbed you of your money. You tried to rob him of his life! There is no equality in that.
The lawyer was rubbish at her job. Her questions and behaviour in court were appalling and unlawful. I’m not a lawyer and I could see where she made ridiculous mistakes, especially when she wouldn’t listen to the judge trying to call someone to the stand after proceedings had concluded. Like WT?
The best (and funniest) part was when the lawyer went into the basement and saw all the women tied up. Hilarious! And ludicrous. Statistics command that at least one of those women would have been looked for by family and/or friends because they would see she is missing physically. She would have been a missing person, so, you can’t collect benefits for missing people. They would notice.
Weak story, weak scenarios, weak characters. Disappointing and irritating to again watch a woman be a stupid doormat to someone whom is literally a stranger and making them look like victims. If you empathetise with the character Grace, go see a psychiatrist.
Phylicia Rashad acting was good. She plays “crazy” very well.
Suggestion : Shrek. Characters have more substance and are believable. Entertaining.
