Fantastic! They created a more compelling and dark narrative then shown on paper in the Epic. As a classics student, I feel they got all the major elements on point, setting the story up well for future tragedies and the founding of Rome. It felt like each actor/actress was made for their role (particularly Menelaus). The casting choice was excellent, and more representative then the movie (they actually hired people who weren't white *sigh of relief*). Fun fact: Troy would have been in modern-day Turkey, so I would advise people getting off their high colonist horses and recognising good acting when you see it.
The musical score is amazing, suiting the tone of the series perfectly. And the slight god involvement was good - not so overdone as to take away from the mortal element. The prophecy element was integrated nicely, creating an anticipation which is hard to come by.
Good watch that stuck to the main elements of the books and future epics/plays to come, whilst missing the boring tones and making slight assumptions to keep a consistent and riveting series.
