Umbrella Academy is a pretty decent action/ time travel Netflix series. Although I'm not a huge fan of Netflix- produced series and movies (like Bird Box and 13 reasons why, which were both kind of horrible), this one really stuck out to me as an interesting and fun watch. The characters are charming, interesting, and overall likeable- even villains like Hazel and Cha-cha. My favourites are Klaus and Five, which were done excellently by their respective actors. The overall vibe to the series can be described as campy, violent, and edgy. If you want a show that takes itself seriously, or if you are a stickler for the rules, the show may not be for you. A lot of scenes are played with loud pop music playing in the background. Although the soundtracks in my opinion are fun and catchy, I can see how this can become annoying or impede the enjoyment of viewers. The series may occasionally feel like a playlist of music with the story in the background instead. This series also doesn't follow the original comic books very closely. I think my biggest problem with UA is that it doesn't properly establish and rules or restrictions with the characters superpowers- sometimes they can be extremely powerful, and sometimes completely useless without any cue or explanation of why a character doesn't use their abilities when it is possible. You kind of have to stretch your imagination a bit when it come to the utilization of the characters abilities and the confusing mechanics of time travel in this series.
