As a production, it is captivating. As a story, it is running on the assumption that politics, governance and military decision-making are handled by a small group. It appears that the author is showing what happens when the rest of the citizens are not learning to be leaders and are not participating in a democracy. I haven't watched all of the last season yet so I am still thinking of how they could practice democracy. I'm also wondering if they will become focussed on living in a sustainable way on whatever land they settle on.
