It’s not that it’s a bad movie, I was just looking for a prequel that somehow tied family bonds into a character somewhere in the first movies. And, the other two had whimsical fun moments of action, where this one is most often rather blah, even when trying to be colorful. I would have enjoyed it as its own movie, but being tied to the other movies I was disappointed. The flashy fight scenes just aren’t there. I really think it would have kept me more interested if they would have at least made a family connection in this prequel…but nothing seems to be there but the name of the movie.

It took me three days to read the book, and it’s taking me about that long to try to get through the movie. Besides the title and character’s names— those characters that made the cut into a Hollywood flick—there is very little left of the book in this movie.
