I love this show!! It's extremely funny, cute and give a lot of great life lessons! The songs are just so darn catchy. At first glance, amateurs, might go 'OOH THIS IS A POKEMON RIPOFF". No. It's not. Pokemon's about catching wild animals and learning how to raise them with love and respect (and occasionally battling them). Unlike Yokai Watch. You don't catch the monsters; you BEFRIEND them. They give you their medals of friendship if they believe you're worthy of gaining their friendship. In this show, it's just that. Nate goes around befriending yokais of many kinds, but he doesn't befriend all of them. There's many who he eventually antagonises. And that's okay. Because, in real life, we too can't go around befriending everybody. Pokemon gives you a sense of adventure that can be found when you venture away from the comfort of your familiar surroundings, which is great! But in Yokai Watch: Nate finds yokais in every single scenario; all within his grasp: his school, classmates, shop, the MTR, family, etc. That makes us realise that adventure can be found in the most closest corner possible. Overall, a great game series (even though I didn't play it) and an even BETTER anime series! Yokai Watch will always be alive :D
