It was ok. Too many monsters and subplots for my liking. Charles Dance's role was scarcely explained. I like young Millie Bobby Brown very much. A highly talented actress. David Strathairn was on screen for about 3 minutes. I think about 30 minutes could have been trimmed from the cut. Otherwise an ok timewaster.

Great film. Highly fictionalized account of the escape from Stalag Luft III. No Americans were actually involved in it but as American money financed the film's production and American stars were in it, a highly entertaining and exciting script was written. Good supporting cast of British and German actors lend plenty of credulity to the production. Elmer Bernstein's stirring score helps immensely. Cannot believe that nearly the entire cast is gone now.
