OK. You are wondering if this book is any good for a person who is new or a person that has been playing for years. OK. Here you go. I am an older golfer that has been playing since 7th grade. I picked this up a few years ago. Then, I semi-retired as a professional engineer. I have played golf for decades! I have played in many tournaments with other compatriots in many venues. So, here is the deal.
If you have an analytical mind and read the book carefully, you will find some real nuggets in this tome. First, your grip may be reasonable but not right, (like I found mine was not right) and Second, you might find that your arms are not working correct in your turn (like mine) and then you will find your swing down plane is not correct compared to the backswing ( like mine was not quite right). If you read the book and meticulously follow Hogan's instruction and work on your grip, your arms movements, and swing, you will find more accurate swing ability will happen on the practice tee and your game will improve significantly! How do I know, I have found these principles are sound and logical. Try them and follow what Hogan says and you might surprise yourself. I am not making this up or being naive. I am an experienced golfer with many good games but find this book will improve yours IF you don't overlook the minute details that are included in this very valuable instruction book. Don't underestimate it's value!!
