Excellent film, all the charm of the room biopic but with lots more soul. Dolemite is my name looks endearingly on a film that should have been crushed by Hollywood but through sheer will and undying character was brought to life by its cast. A down on your luck, rags to riches story that seems to be good to be true but is based on the true story of dolemite, a wonderful story about how comedy doesn't always need to be high brow, let yourself go and take this for what it is. Murphy and the rest of the star studded cast made something really special here, the film is enchanting and immersive in its time and you can feel the elation of the characters as if you were watching the real crew making the actual movie. Watch this, you won't forget the name dolemite and if you're like me youll probably have to check out the original now too.
