Pathetic movie. No plot, no acting, nothing absolutely. Had to stop watching in the half-way mark as I could not digest any further. Not sure how Mahesh Bhat's quality as a director degraded so much. Also very strange thing is that everything related to SSR's murder has been shown in the movie - depression, suicide, fake tantriks, drugs, struggling actor - as if he knew everything before SSR's death. This is unbelievable.

Awe inspiring movie. Though I have been following Anuj Dhar's work closely and completely aware of the background, the movie did not allow me to lose attention even for a second. The way Srijit used the long shots and the black-and-white part of the movie is simply brilliant. As far as acting is concerned I think Prasenjit has delivered the performance of his life. It shows how hard he has worked on his body language, expressions and every movement of body and eye. This act will take him to a completely different league of actors. The music of the movie - not only the songs but also the use of every bit of music, including every drum beat will extract emotions out of you. Talking about the negative points I think the relationship angle of Anirban Bhattacharya has been dragged a little more than necessary. Instead, a little bit more detailed and dramatized representation of the actual facts and findings of the Gumnami baba case would have been more interesting for me. I do appreciate the cinematic necessities for this, but one must understand the movie is not made for audience that goes to see sex and violence. Overall, a movie must-see for all Indians (as the Hindi version is coming too). It will be very interesting to see how they convert this to the Hindi version because there are dialogues and songs which pertain to Bengali culture only. For those who opposed release of this movie (mainly the Forward Block and Netaji Family) - Go to your caves, sleep and never come out please - we do not need you!!

There are some movies which leave an impact on us for a long time, and this is one of such movies. I could not watch it in the big screen because the theater near my house removed it within a day or two after its release - which was really surprising and sad. Then I found it in my mobile app after a long time, watched it and it just blew my mind. But it looks like there are some cuts in the app version. The movie is simply outstanding in terms of the facts presented and research. A dark phase of Indian history just opens up in front of our eyes. The thriller component goes well with the film's main theme. Acting is nice as you would have expected from all the accomplished actors, Mithun Chakraborty is a standout. However, there has been little overacting in some places which could have been moderated. There are few things that I did not like in the movie. The cinematography, flow of the scenes could have been better. I know you have used different books in your study but reading them out in the commission did not seem to be realistic. The commission members must be knowledgeable and they should already know what material has been published by whom. Shewta Basu Prasad's Uzbek trip, her interaction with Vinay Pathak seemed to be little incoherent. Nothing is shown on how she traveled abroad just after losing her job. Her relation with her estranged husband who is now a security guard of the home minister is not clear. How did she find out Mithun was calling him with the clues? Not shown... Overall, a fantastic and intriguing movie that shocks us to the core - a must watch for every Indian.
