A very detailed work tracing the life of Lamsdorf from it's inception in Napoleonic times until it's closure in 1945.
Anna Wickiewicz leads the reader though the journey of the prisoners from Briton and it's dominions beginning with their arrival from as far away as: Palestine Canada India Australia and New Zealand, and she closes this well researched and tight (150 page) book with a chapter on the soldiers' return home at the end of the Third Reich. Her final pages include some personal accounts from survivors who brought their family members to see where they had been held captive. Originally written in 2016 the book was reedited and republished (1000 copies) in 2018.
For anyone with an interest Stalag VIII B (344) Lamsdorf and it's outlying work camps (Arbeitskommando) I wholeheartedly recommend this work.
