I am now in my early 70's. This wonderfully entertaining show was on television in my youth.I was a young African- American male, who had a big crush on Annie Oakley(Gail Davis). And I am still proud of it. I enjoyed the other regulars on the show (Jimmy Hawkins and Brad Johnson)(Billy Gray was Tagg in the pilot). Lofty and Annie were always flirting with each other. There was an episode that I remember from years ago, where Annie and Lofty kissed. I also remember Wonder Bread commercials, where Annie would have the sandwiches on a table. And Tagg would ride up on his pinto to eat some (of course, he would say that he was hungry). To me, the music was a big part of the show. It was the same music that was used in shows like Ramar of the Jungle and Superman. Ramar of the Jungle was a popular "Jungle" show of the times. When I was much younger. I was caught up in the love for the show. Like many youth of the time.Obviously, now that I am older, I can see the heavy handed racial implications (from Rudy Flothow the director of the show and others). But I didn't mean to get away from my point. Which was my love for Gail Davis and the Annie Oakley show. I am a retired .
