A deeply unsettling film, The Eyes of My Mother skillfully tells a tragic and twisted tale of crushing loneliness and unimaginable cruelty, set among the hills of rural Appalachia. The film instills an almost unbearable sense of dread in the viewer that is difficult to shake. The film is not palatable to mainstream audiences.
