really cute movie but it’s literally just a modern day Aladdin except where this time we see the “peasant” & “princess” ‘s relationship develop more 💀 so ig my main problem is i wish they would’ve just done this with the original movie, given Aladdin & Jasmine more bonding scenes, instead of completely recycling this cliche trope especially bc there were SO parallels like when Din has to awkwardly explain himself to Li Na, swear the dialogue was even similar to when Aladdin awkwardly explained himself to Jasmine 🧎🏽‍♀️all these similar plot points, ex. Li Ana having the rich dad like Jasmine with the Sultan, it made it impossible to not compare the two movies & i don’t know, but if they were going to reuse this plot, i wish they would’ve at least had some bigger twists with it but because they didn’t, now the movie’s going to be labeled an Aladdin copy rather than smth of its own 🤷🏽‍♀️ Disney’s running out of creativity ig
