The most powerful film I have seen regarding loss of hearing and the power of sound. I am a sound/HiFi junkie and this film really dives into the psyche of what sound means in our lives. Some of the muted scenes are the most powerful in the film and that really makes you think. On the surface, the film appears to be some typical HS drama. However, you quickly find yourself drawn 100% in.
Troy Kotsur and Marlee Matlin blow this movie out of the water. I have never seen anything like it before. I've seen it attempted, but never executed with this precision. The way they feel on the screen is totally unique, because it's authentic.
Few films will make you cry, but one scene in particular on the back of a truck with the father and daughter, will make most people cry I think. I would go into more on how it feels to see it, but don't want to spoil anything.
It's worth the cost of admission, no doubt there.
