The movie spoke to me, as "the couple" felt all the pressures of having children..in an era where everyone HAD KIDS...It was the "right thing to
do." As the film plays out, they REALLY do want kids, and only in a way
that love can be THE primary factor. Woods and Close are convincing in their search to adopt, as they discover that it is an exercise in frustration.
Mary Stuart Masterson, very well played as the pregnant Mom was top drawer in her desire to find the "right home" for her unborn child.
I believe that this movie is above criticism, as it aptly portrays these two couples at the intersection of an unborn baby's new home and awaiting parents. I was moved by the performances, so go for it. You'll enjoy!
